Why I love this red, white, and blue charcuterie board
- Colorful and delicious: Just like this rainbow charcuterie board, this patriotic board is piled with colorful and delicious foods. Making this the perfect centerpiece to any party.
- Easy to customize: One of the best things about charcuterie is the ability to cater to picky eaters and dietary restrictions. Easily swap or add any of your favorite ingredients.
- Variety of foods: The variety of flavors and textures on the board ensures there is something for everyone.
- Quick prep time: Assembling the board could not be easier. Allowing you to spend less time in the kitchen and more time in the sunshine sipping a 4th of July mocktail.
How to make a 4th of July Charcuterie Board
The dips and sauces: Add dips, spreads, and jams into small bowls and place them throughout a large wooden board.
The cheese: Cut the hard cheeses into star shapes and arrange on the board along with the soft cheeses.
Meats, produce, and crackers: Add cured meats, colorful fruits and veggies, and your favorite crackers around the board. Keep a patriotic theme by using red, white, and blue produce.

Garnish: Garnish with patriotic cookies or 4th of July decorations.
Pro tip: Use a variety of cheeses. Some types of cheeses that work well are goat cheese, pepper jack cheese, cheddar cheese, and mozzarella balls.
Make ahead, storage, and freezing instructions
To make ahead: Keep the board chilled until ready to serve to make sure that the cheeses and meats stay fresh throughout your celebration. You can make the board up to 2 hours ahead of time.
To store - It's best to put all items that need refrigeration, such as cheeses, meats, and dips, into airtight containers. They can then be refrigerated for a couple of days.
Crackers, fruits, cookies, and non-refrigerated items can be placed in containers and bags and stored at room temperature in the pantry.
To freeze - I don't recommend freezing after assembling the festive board.
Recipe variations
- Different fruits: Feel free to add red apples, cherries, bananas, plums, or any other red, white, and blue fruit. It's truly up to personal preference.
- Decorations: I like to add little American flags, decorative toothpicks, or festive napkins to the board to give it an extra patriotic kick.
- Gluten-free: If you're catering to a gluten allergy, feel free to use all gluten free crackers for a celiac friendly charcuterie board.
- Vegetarian: Swap the meats for vegetarian options like roasted chickpeas, more cheeses, extra veggies, etc.
