My Pumpkin Feta Dip is a must have fall appetizer that blends creamy, savory, and slightly sweet flavors into one irresistible dip. The smooth texture of pumpkin paired with the tangy feta creates a flavor combination that's sure to impress. Plus, the best part is is how simple it is to throw together in just two minutes. (Seriously, only two minutes)

Pumpkin Feta Dip on a cracker and in a pumpkin

Hosting fall gatherings is one of my favorite things to do when the weather gets cold. Gathering friends and family to snack on a fall charcuterie board, halloween cookies, or enjoy a fun halloween mocktail. Everyone has their family favorites and this pumpkin feta dip has to be one of my families favorites. There's something about the earthy flavors of pumpkin that ties in any fall event.

Why I love this pumpkin whipped feta dip

    • Fast and simple: You can make this dip in two minutes with minimal dishes making it perfect for last minute hosting.
    • Festive serving: I love serving in a hallowed out mini pumpkin.
    • Balanced flavor profile: The sweetness of pumpkin and honey paired with the salty feta makes this recipe a crowd favorite.
    • Seasonal perfection: With it's autumn ingredients and presentation, this recipe could not get any more "fall themed."

What goes well with pumpkin dip?

This dip is super versatile. Serve with pita bread, your favorite crackers or pretzels, or seasonal veggies (cucumbers and carrots are my favorites). But, my favorite thing to do is serve it on a halloween charcuterie board or a thanksgiving charcuterie board.

    Ingredients needed (and substitutions)

    • Crumbled feta -This salty, tangy cheese is the star of the show. I prefer full fat feta cheese to low fat.
    • Pumpkin puree - No need to make your own, store-bought works perfectly. Just make sure it’s pure pumpkin, not pumpkin pie filling.
    • Plain yogurt - Adds a creamy texture. You can substitute with Greek yogurt for a thicker dip.
    • Honey - Honey balances out the flavors to create a sweet, but savory, dip. Agave is a great vegan swap.
    • Olive oil - Only one tablespoon needed, adds a touch of richness.
    • Garlic powder -Subtle, but important flavor boost.
    • Salt and Cayenne- Don’t skip these! The cayenne adds just a hint of heat, while the salt brings all the flavors together.

Blend: Add all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.

Serve: Pour the dip into a hallowed out pumpkin or small bowl and serve. Top with extra honey, fresh thyme, or even crushed nuts for added flavor.

Can I make pumpkin dip ahead of time?

Yes, you can make this dip a day in advance. Just store it in an airtight container in the fridge and give it a stir before you're ready to serve. I like to top with a drizzle of honey and chopped walnuts before serving.

You can also freeze this dip in a freezer safe container for up to 2-3 months. Place in the fridge overnight before you're ready to eat.

    Ways to enjoy

Pair this pumpkin feta dip with any of your favorite fall beverages, like a spiced non-alcoholic punch or cranberry mocktail. It’s also a great addition to a larger spread of Thanksgiving appetizers like this sweet potato casserole or even served at a halloween brunch.

Lately I’ve been loving hummus with veggies and pita… So when I came across this recipe I knew I had to try it. I loved how perfectly creamy it was. And it was so good with my pita and veggies! Such a fun fall recipe I will be using all month!
