These Valentine's cake pops are a delicious, visually stunning treat that's a breeze to make. They'll satisfy your sweet tooth any time of year but they bring an extra touch of love to Valentine's Day.
Why I love these easy cake pops
- Irresistible flavor: Your favorite cake blended with creamy frosting and dipped in melted chocolate. What could be better than that?
- Adorable appeal: While this cake pop recipe is delicious, they also turn out so cute every time! Just like these holiday cookie boxes or our apple roses.
- Seriously, so easy: With just a handful of simple ingredients and straight forward steps, you'll have a batch of these cake pops ready in no time.
- They're versatile: While this recipe is Valentine's themed, perfect for a Galentine's theme party with pink champagne cake, you can decorate them differently for other holidays.
How to make Valentine's Cake Pops
The cake mixture: Make or buy your favorite cake and crumble the cake into a large mixing bowl. Slowly incorporate the frosting and mix until combined.
Roll into balls: Use a mini cookie scoop or ice cream scoop to scoop out the cake mixture. Roll the balls between the palm of your hand for evenly rounded cake bites.
Candy coating: Dip a lollipop stick into the melted candy coating then stick into the cake pop until halfway inserted. Repeat this until all of the cake pops have a sucker in them.
Dip: Dip the cake pops into the melted chocolate to coat the cake ball entirely. Let excess chocolate drip down before placing on a sheet pan.
Decorate: Place the valentine's day cake pops on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or wax paper and top with sprinkles. Let the coating harden before serving.
Pro tip: Make sure the cake is completely cooled to room temperature before crumbling. Baking a day ahead of time is a great way to ensure this. You'll also want to crumble the cake slowly for best results.

Make ahead, storage, and freezing instructions
Make ahead: You can make these cake pops a few days ahead of time or much on them throughout the week. These make great DIY valentine's treats for school.
How to store: To store cake pops, make sure the chocolate coating has completely hardened before storing at room temperature in a ziplock bag or airtight container. Putting wax paper between each layer of cake pops helps keep them from sticking together.
How to freeze: If you want to freeze these easy cake pops, place them in an airtight container or a freezer bag. The best way to keep these cake pops fresh is by vacuum sealing them in a freezer bag. You can also individually wrap the cake pops in plastic wrap and then wrap them in aluminum foil.
