Throwing this Galentines theme party is the best way to celebrate your favorite ladies this Valentine's Day season. So grab your best friends and some sweet treats and throw the best Galentine's party.
I love having any excuse to throw a party, especially when hanging out with some of my closest friends. One of the core values of this blog is celebrating. We have one life to live, so we may as well celebrate it!
Another value of mine is tradition. I love traditions because they are something to look forward to every year. I love creating new traditions as well to create new memories.
Making delicious treats is a large part of traditions in our house, especially for the holidays. Our kids love our Valentines breakfast ideas because they are tasty and have fun heart shapes.
We also love our Valentines charcuterie board, Valentines Day chocolate dipped fruit gifts, and Valentines cake pops recipe. My kids love to make these DIY Valentines treats for school for their friends.
Valentine's Day is one of my favorite holidays because it is all about showing love for others. It does not only have to be about a significant other. Valentine's Day is about sharing your love for all of your loved ones.
This Galentines theme party is a wonderful way to celebrate female friendship. Yummy treats, fun gifts, and your friends can make the best Galentines Day party.
The idea of Galentine's Day comes from Leslie Knope of Parks and Recreation, a tv show on NBC. She gathers all of her girlfriends on February 13th and goes the extra mile to make them feel special.
In the episode, she gives her friends a bouquet of hand-crocheted flower pens, a mosaic portrait of their faces made with crushed bottles of their favorite diet soda, and 5,000-word essays of why they are so awesome.
The character of Leslie Knope says Galentine's Day is like Lilith Fair “without the angst.” It is a holiday to celebrate female friendships and is typically celebrated February 13th.
This fictional holiday has become an actual holiday celebrating female friendships with your best gal pals. Galentine's Day is the perfect excuse to take a break from your busy lives and celebrate those you love the most.
You can "kick it" breakfast style like the characters in the show Parks and Recreation, but we think throwing your own Galentine's Day party is the perfect way to celebrate with your friend group.
Valentine Caboodles
For the perfect party, you need adorable party favors, and these adorable Caboodles are just that! I got a bunch of fun goodies to put in these Caboodles to make each girl feel special.
I added Valentine's plates and cups into the Caboodle for their treats to go on. We added lip gloss, scrunchies, Valentine's pencils, rose cuticle oil, and chocolates (of course). You can't have Valentine's treats without chocolate.
I also added little red brushes, pink caboodles, and pink nail polish. They fit perfectly in the Caboodle! I love all of the great compartments in them that make it so cute but also very functional.
Our fun parties would not be perfect without beautifully decorated sugar cookies from Enchanted Cookie Boutique, my friend Shanan's company. (she ships nationwide!).
Our Valentines day sugar cookies or cherry chip cookies or would be great here as well. You could also put together this Valentines cookie gift for others or eat the cookies for yourselves.
Valentine's CharCUTErie Board
I have really been into charcuterie boards lately because of how versatile they are. You can customize them to fit any party theme, and they are really easy to assemble. So of course, I had to make one for Galentine's Day.
Our Valentine’s Charcuterie board (charCUTErie) is in a gorgeous heart shape. I found this board at Williams Sonoma and the mini heart marble boards. They are probably coasters, but they work so well for mini charcuterie boards!
I love adding dimension to a charcuterie board, and these heart dishes on the board do just that. They also add so much pizzazz and give it that really Valentines look.
For the aesthetic, you can also pop on a few heart-shaped chocolate and cookies with jammy heart cutouts. Adding herbs to your charCUTErie board is also great because it gives life and color to the board.
I love fresh rosemary because it gives the board a wreath vibe, which I love. We also love adding fresh sage because it looks like leaves. Food is important, but so is the aesthetic, at least in my opinion.
You can even arrange salami slices like a rose and cut cheese into little hearts for a bit more WOW! Our gluten-free cheese and charcuterie boards are fantastic for gatherings because guests can serve themselves.
As a host, you couldn’t ask for a better setup. There is no need to run in and out of the kitchen, so you can now sit down and relax with everyone else! For an all-inclusive board, try adding in some sweets.
Try a mini charcuterie board if you have a smaller guest list or want a smaller board. Just add smaller portions of ingredients to each board. All you need is meat, cheese, and a veggie, but crackers are also work great.
Galentines Mocktail
I love making mocktails! I am a big fan of Valentines mocktails at the moment because they are so fitting with the season. Mocktails basicially take some of your favorite cocktails and make them alcohol-free.
Mocktails really pull a meal together whether I am just going to make a cranberry mocktail or a simple non-alcoholic gin and tonic. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, either. Sometimes the most simple drink is the most delicious.
I made a simple fruit and herb water for this Galentine's Day gathering. Adding some raspberries and rosemary creates a delicious drink that is so refreshing, too. However, these festive mocktails would be great as well.

- Fresh Raspberry Mocktail
If you want, you can come up with some signature drinks for the party that you can make beforehand or with your friends. That would be a fun activity and you get to find some recipes that could become your new favorite drinks.
You could even make this drink-making activity a friendly competition. Give your girls some ingredients, set the timer for 10 minutes or so, and see who comes up with the best drink. Who does not love a little competition?
Galentine's Party Activities
This is your girls night, so you can keep things as simple or elaborate as you want. Ultimately, Galentine's Day is all about spending quality time with your favorite gals. Make sure you have treats and snacks though...
Save this post for later!
With this Galentines party, you can go with different party themes. I love throwing a themed party. For example, you can have a spa night, cooking night, movie marathons, etc.
Having a theme is a fun way to celebrate with you girls with a specific plan in place. Plus, your guests will know what to expect when there is a theme. Bonus points if you make cute invitations.
Here are some fantastic Galentine's Day party ideas...
Makeovers/Photoshoot
Tell your friends to bring their favorite makeup and get ready for a beautifully fun time. You can grab some makeup from the dollar store for more options. Everyone has their own way of doing makeup, so it is fun to try different makeup styles.
You will want to have a spot prepared to do the makeovers. Mirrors and lighting are a must. It does not need to be anything fancy, but it is important to have the proper setting.
If you make Caboodles and add beauty things, you can use these products for the makeover. I added cute Valentines scrunchies, nail polish, and lipgloss to the Cadboodle, so that would be perfect for this activity.
Also, you need the perfect playlist to listen to while getting ready. Blast your favorite tunes and sing at the top of your lungs while doing your makeup. That is how I like doing my makeup every day anyway.
One way to make makeovers fun is to have a photoshoot afterward! Make a DIY photo booth and have a blast. Have fun props like boas, glasses, hats, and crowns. Not only will you have fun, but you will also have fun pictures to look back on.
The self-timer option on your phone works perfectly to take these super fun pictures. You can also ask your hubby or your kiddos to help. Keep the music playing and have fun!
Movie Marathon
Nothing screams Valentine's Day more than chick flicks. I love having a girls night when everyone wears their pajamas, brings their favorite treats, and watches cheesy rom-coms together.
Set up your movie-viewing space with pillows, blankets, and all of the cozy things. Depending on where you live and what the weather is like, you could watch movies on a projector outside.
Ask your friends what their favorite chick flicks are, and pick a couple to watch. You can even have everyone vote for what the want to watch. Some of my favorites are Sweet Home Alabama and How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.
I recommend having your guests bring their favorite snacks and treats. Popcorn is a movie marathon must. I also love making the best red velvet cake mix cookies.
Spa Night
My oh my, do I love a spa night. Galentine's Day is about celebrating your gal pals; one way to do that is to help them take care of themselves. So, try throwing a relaxing spa night to celebrate Galentine's Day.
First things first: the vibes. I recommend playing relaxing spa music and dimming the lights in your house. Twinkly lights and candles work well to light up the space while not being too bright.
Diffuse some relaxing essential oils like lavender and eucalyptus for the spa smell. Pair the oils with matching lavender and eucalyptus candles if you use candles. A vanilla scent is also relaxing and homey.
Face masks are a must with spa nights. I usually look up homemade face mask recipes and use natural ingredients at home. My skin is pretty sensitive, so natural ingredients work best.
Cut up some cucumber slices and put them on your eyes like in the movies. I am not sure if it does anything, but it looks cool. You can also cut them up just to snack on if you want.
I love setting up a mani-pedi station. Your friends can paint each other's nails, or you can sit around and do your own nails. Have everyone bring their favorite nail polish for fun colors and options.
Cookie Decorating
Cookie decorating is a great activity for any February get-together. I especially love doing it when little ones join in since they think it is so much fun. This activity can double as a dessert table since you are decorating the cookies!
For a party, you can do a cute setup with unfrosted heart soft gluten-free sugar cookies, little cups of frosting, and sprinkles that come in a variety of sizes and colors. We did this at our Galentines day cookie decorating party.
Have plenty of frosting options (red, pink, and white are great for Galentine's Day), sprinkles, and fun toppings. M&Ms work great, as well as mini marshmallows and candied hearts.
If you want, you can take the cookies you decorate to your neighbors. It will most likely make their days and help them feel loved. One of the ways I show love is through making food for others.
Game Night
Game nights are super fun because they are a great way to spend time with others and have fun. With games, you can focus on the task at hand without having to worry about things on your to do list.
I know that I love playing games because I get caught up in the competition and the fun of the game. Plus, playing games lets your guard down so you can have fun conversations with friends.
Board games, video games, card games, etc., work great for a game night. Have everyone bring their favorite games, so you have plenty to choose from. I love finding new games to play.
Some of my favorite card games are Uno, Skull King, Phase 10, Skip-Bo, and any classic card games with a deck of cards. My favorite board games are Clue, Monopoly, and Hedbandz.
For video games, you can have the classics like Mario Kart, Mario Party, and Pac-Man. I am not super great at video games, but they can be a ton of fun. Karaoke is not technically a game, but it sure does make a fun party activity.
We know you will have the ultimate Galentine's Day party if you do any of these things. Make sure you let your friends know that you love them and have such a great Galentine's Day!
