Why I love this easter dessert bark

    • It couldn't be easier: There's no complicated steps in this easy recipe. Simply melt, spread, sprinkle, and break.
    • You can customize it: Just like these easter charcuterie board ideas, you can customize this recipe with your favorite candies and toppings.
    • Use leftover candy: If you have leftover candy from an easter egg hunt, you can use it in this recipe.
    • Make ahead convenience: Just like these christmas Oreo truffles, you can make this recipe a day or two in advance. This is a great way to save some time in the kitchen and it makes a great addition to easter baskets.

    Ingredients you'll need

    • White chocolate: I like to use white chocolate chips, but you can use candy melts, almond bark, or a white chocolate bar.
    • Coconut oil: This prevents the chocolate from burning in the microwave, and it also allows it to harden up well.
    • Cadbury eggs: Gives this Easter bark it's Easter-touch! Cadbury eggs are everyone's favorite Easter candy which is why I put them on my Easter charcuterie board every year.

How to make this Easter bark recipe

Melt: Melt the white chocolate in the microwave until it's smooth and creamy. 30 second intervals work best, stirring in between.

Spread: Pour the melted chocolate evenly onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.

Sprinkle: Sprinkle the chopped chocolate eggs onto the bark along with any other candy you'd like.

Freeze: Place the cookie sheet into the freezer for about an hour or until the bark is firm.

Serve: Break into pieces and place into a large bowl for serving.

Pro tip: Crush the mini eggs in a ziplock bag or use a food processor.

    • Different chocolate: Instead of using white chocolate chips, feel free to use milk chocolate, dark chocolate, or your favorite easter candies for a different flavor.
    • Nuts: If you want an extra crunch, add chopped pecans or walnuts onto the chocolate before freezing. You can even add peanut butter for extra flavor without the crunch.
    • Fresh fruit: Feel free to add fresh strawberries or blueberries to the chocolate mixture. This is a great way to add more flavor and texture.
    • Marbled bark: If you want to take the aesthetics to the next level, marble in a different type of melted chocolate before freezing. Or, use food coloring for different colored white chocolate.
    • Added sweets: You can add mini marshmallows, Oreo cookies, pastel sprinkles, or your favorite easter candy to this white chocolate bark for added flare.

Make ahead, storage, and freezing instructions

Make ahead: Prepare this delicious treat up to a week in advance and follow storing instructions until you're ready to serve.

Storage: If you have leftover bark or want to make it ahead of time, store in an airtight container or ziplock baggie in the fridge or at room temperature. It will stay good for up to a week.

Freezing: You can freeze this bark in a freezer-safe container or resealable bag. Frozen bark can be stored for up to 3 months and when you're ready to enjoy, let it thaw at room temperature for a few minutes before breaking.
