How to make ahead: Like most fudge recipes, this one can be prepared 2-3 days ahead of time or further in advance if you choose to freeze. Making it the perfect stress free dessert recipe for the holidays or those with busy schedules.
How to store: Store leftover fudge in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
Can you freeze fudge? Yes, you can freeze this easy fudge recipe. Allow the fudge to properly set before freezing and freeze in a plastic baggie or freezer container for up to 3 months. Let the fudge thaw in the fridge overnight before you're ready to serve.

Recipe variations

  • Chopped nuts - Mix in 1 cup of chopped nuts to this chocolate fudge (almonds, pecans, walnuts, or macadamia nuts work great) after incorporating the powdered sugar.
  • Caramel sauce - Drizzle caramel sauce over the fudge before refrigerating for an extra touch of sweetness.
  • Get fruity - Adding dried fruit like cranberries, apricots, or cherries is a great way to contrast the creamy texture.
