- 1 brie wheel
- 2 Boursin cheese wheels
- 1-2 cups blackberries
- 2 cups white cheese cubes
- 60 slices of pepperoni
- variety of additional cheeses (I recommend parmesan, smoked gouda, goat cheese or a blue)
- variety of cured meats (I recommend dry salami, cured chorizo or cured wagyu beef)
- olives
- honey
- crackers or chips
- nuts
- assorted fall fruits (apples, persimmon, pomegranate, figs...)
- black icing
- small pieces of red pepper for lips
Get a medium sized board and place the brie wheel in the middle with the two Boursin wheels on either side
Roll pepperoni slices and stack them on a toothpick then insert them into the right and left sides of the top of the brie wheel to make Winnifred's "hair"
Using the blackberries, arrange Mary's "hair" on top of one of the small Boursin wheels
Using the white cheese cubes, arrange Sarah's "hair" on the other small Boursin cheese wheel
Draw eyes on each wheel with the black icing and cut red pepper to make the lips
Put more cheeses and meats on the tray with dips and olives in little cups
Arrange fall fruits on the board
Add some chips and pretzels on the board too
Add any fall sugar cookies and other sweets, like gummy pumpkins or caramel popcorn
Expert charcuterie tips
Layer flavors and textures: When arranging a charcuterie board, it's best to place soft foods next to crunchy foods, savory foods next to sweet foods, and mix/match different shapes and colors. This not only gives the board depth, but it's an easy way to make it look professional.
Use seasonal foods and garnishes: I love to use candy corn, candy pumpkins, or other halloween candy when arranging this board. It's such a fun way to bring in some holiday cheer. You can also use orange napkins, plastic pumpkins, or other halloween decor throughout the board.
Can I prepare this board in advance?
Yes, you can prepare most ingredients in advance, but assemble the board closer to serving time to preserve freshness. Cover the prepped ingredients or store in an airtight container and refrigerate until you're ready to serve.
What's the best way to store leftover charcuterie?
Leftover meats, cheeses, and fruits can be stored in an airtight container or ziplock baggie in the fridge. Consume leftovers 2-3 days after for the freshest taste.
